BMW India has launched the BMW i5 in the Indian market. This is the electric version of BMW's new generation 5 Series sedan. The company has launched only the top-spec M60 variant of this fully luxurious electric car.

The company claims that this luxurious electric car can provide a range of over 516km on a full charge. It offers advanced features like dual digital display, panoramic glass roof and ADAS.

The i5 electric sedan is positioned between the i4 and i7 in BMW's EV lineup. The car can be considered as a cheaper alternative to replace the entry-level variants of Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan.

BMW i5 priced at ₹ 1.20 crore, warranty up to 1.6 lakh kilometers

BMW has priced this electric sedan in India at ₹ 1.20 crore (ex-showroom pan India). The electric sedan will be imported and sold in India. Its bookings started from April 4 and deliveries will begin in May.

The company is offering unlimited kilometers or 2-year standard warranty with the i5 M60 car, which can be extended up to 5 years. The i5's battery pack is getting a warranty of 8 years or up to 1.6 lakh kilometers.

0 to 100kmph in 3.8 seconds and a range of 516km

BMW i5 comes with all wheel drive option. In which an electric motor is provided on both the axles. Both the electric motors generate a maximum combined power of 601hp and a torque of 795Nm. The company claims that the BMW i5 electric car can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 230kmph.

The car gets an 83.9kWh battery pack to power the motors, which gives a WLTP range of 516 km once fully charged. The company offers an 11 kW wall charger with the electric sedan and a 22 kW AC charger is available as an option. The brand claims that the EV has a 205kW DC charging capacity, which takes less than 30 minutes to charge the car from 10-80%.
